What an amazing church with an amazing story!  I have told it over and over and each time I do it makes me miss HCF all the more.  Since my memoirs are mostly for those who attend the conference and would already know the story I won’t tell it…for those of you who don’t…well…trust me it’s good one! 

Donnie and I love road trips and this one brought us to a town and community that we will not soon forget!  Though it was a one day event, it was a two day affair.  We drove south to Burnet on Friday, August 22 was our twenty first wedding anniversary.  We arrived in Burnet just after 9:00pm and quickly found out that Burnet, TX shuts down early and our anniversary dinner would now be PIZZA!  Much to our surprise and delight Texas Pizza Co was some of the best pizza we ever had!!!

Our second day, started out by meeting Rod & Rosemary McGee what a wonderful experience for me to have the time, though brief, to meet this amazing man of God.  Rarely, does the Pastor make an appearance at a women’s event…Not only did he make an appearance, but he prayed over me and all of you!  And then just like he appeared, he was gone.

The day was filled with God, worship, food and fellowship always the fixins for a great day!  Rosemary opened up by encouraging us to expect great things.  We will never be disappointed when our expectations are on the Lord, for He will never disappoint us!  Her words were prophetic and profound!  As I shared, Donnie and I were just home less than a week from our mission trip to Honduras.  We believe that the same God who moved miraculously in a third world country is the same God here and we should expect Him to move mightily!  And He did!

I was blessed with so many emails that shared stories from the weekend.  Space doesn’t allow for me to share them all and some are not my story to tell…but when they are told, God will certainly be glorified! I will tell you this; marriages were healed, a hunger & thirst for God’s Word was imparted, how to hear the voice of God over the enemy was understood, not going places in your mind where God would NEVER take you is being practiced and there has been revelation!  What do I mean by revelation?  Listen to the words of the one who wrote this:

"I feel completely inspired to now make it of complete importance to be in my Bible everyday. I thought of how busy my husband is and how I get on him for not spending enough time with me and then got a good swift kick from God for not spending enough time with Him. Who am I to ask for more time when the most important relationship in my life is not getting as near as much time as it should.”

Our day ended in the most amazing way, Rod & Rosemary took us to the future building sight of HCF.  After Rodney shared how God had provided the land and what the layout would be he parked the car and he and Rosemary turned around, took our hands and prayed over Donnie and I, our ministry and our own church’s future land and building project.  In 2 Chronicles 16:9 it says,

“For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him.” That is the heart of these two precious Kingdom minded people! We left Burnet the next morning at 4:00AM to make it to church for our mission trip celebration service…We took HCF home with us!
